Greystanes Groovers are very well equipped, with numerous toys and activities to engage children from babies to school age. The hall at Nemesia Street Park is very well suited for playgroup as it has a large open area inside as well as a full fenced area outside.
When attending Greystanes Groovers you can expect your child to enjoy a variety of different toys, from slides, balance beams and mini trampolines to toy car garages and cars to toy prams and dolls. A variety of activities are also on offer, including musical instruments, dress ups, a toy kitchen and building blocks. Most weeks (working off a prearranged roster) one parent will arrange a craft activity, anything from simple colouring in to constructing items and decorating them with paint and glitter.
While at Greystanes Groovers there is time for morning tea. We ask that everyone bring along a piece of fruit and this will be chopped up and shared on a platter by all the children. Morning tea for the adults is arranged by just one parent each week on a rostered basis.
To participate in Greystanes Groovers you must be a member of Playgroup NSW. In addition to this, $28 per family per term is payable to Greystanes Groovers to cover the costs of hiring the hall and running the playgroup (replacing toys, craft materials and cleaning items).
If you would like to know more, or come along and visit one of our sessions we would love to meet you. Please contact us and we can arrange a time with you!
The Magic of Storytelling playgroup is now held weekly from 10am to 11:30am at Anzac Park, West Ryde.
During the playgroup, there is:
- pop-up reading area
- craft activities
- playtime and more
This playgroup is a collaboration of local community organisations working together including Salvation Army, Benevolent Society, The Northern Centre (formerly Ryde Family Services), CCA, Integricare, Save the Children and Ryde Council and is available to all families in the area, including families who are enrolled to receive the monthly Imagination Library book program, through United Way Australia.
We run a Wednesday morning (10-11.30) playgroup for children age 0-5 and their parents/carers. It is a well-established group called ‘Playtime’ and runs in Merrylands Anglican church hall during school term.
It is free to try first week, then $3 per child or $5 family for each week attended. We are always welcoming new families and would love you to come and visit. We provide craft, toys and activities for free play, morning tea, and song & storytime.
