[POSTPONED] Lunar New Year Festival | Auburn @ Auburn Central Forecourt | Auburn | New South Wales | Australia

Cumberland City Council has postponed the Lunar New Year celebrations, which was to be held in Auburn this Saturday, 1 February 2020 due to health concerns surrounding coronavirus. A new date for the event will be announced in the near future.

2020 is the Year of the Rat – the first of all zodiac animals. Come and join an evening full of fun and cultural festivities as we celebrate this very special year.

The Rat is the first of all zodiac animals. According to one myth, the Jade Emperor said the order would be decided by the order in which they arrived to his party. The Rat tricked the Ox into giving him a ride. Then, just as they arrived at the finish line, Rat jumped down and landed ahead of Ox, becoming first.
