Espressimo has now closed and Ninety5 Cafe has opened there instead.
Situated outside Top Ryde City is a lovely and cosy cafe, Espressimo. After Mrs Fields Top Ryde closed, I struggled to find a venue in the area that not only provides a nice coffee but also can keep my children entertained. There are certainly some great cafe’s at Top Ryde but I longed for the fabulous play area that Mrs Fields provided.
I had heard rumours about Espressimo cafe, a little cafe located just outside the shopping centre on Blaxland Rd. My husband and I decided to test it out today.
We went in with a side-by-side double pram. We were able to get through the door, hooray! As you walk in, the entrance is narrow and lined with small tables with 2 chairs on either side. There isn’t much room for more seating. Up the back there are 2 tables with 3-4 chairs and a large communal table. We sat on the large table as it was right next to the play area.
We did find it difficult to place the double pram somewhere safe and out of everyone’s way. My toddler absolutely enjoyed the play area. There was a little doll house set up along with a toy guitar, a hello kitty bag and some teddy bears.
I ordered the vegetarian breakfast whilst my husband ordered bacon and egg. We both had cappuccinos and our daughter had the obligatory babycino. The food was affordable and well seasoned. The portions were reasonable. The coffee tasted great and according to their Facebook reviews, I’m not the only one that thinks so.
I’d definitely go again but without a pram. I found that there really isn’t much room for one. I would highly recommend it to those who have children that would enjoy the play area and not necessarily need a pram.
