I fell in love with the outdoor play area at Stockland Baulkham Hills the moment I saw it. It’s a wonderfully magical, colourful, fenced play area that would probably only be 7mx5ms in size, but boy does it pack a bunch.

Stockland Baulkham Hills

The Touched by Olivia Foundation helped create the play space, making it an inclusive place for kids of different abilities.

Within the play area you will find:

  • braille artwork along the walls
  • musical instruments
  • an animal sound machine
  • wooden climbing play gym with slide and interactive features along its base
  • a tear drop shaped lead cubby house
  • giant garden features, like mushrooms, caterpillars and gumnuts, giving it a fairyland feel

Stockland Baulkham Hills

It is a perfect little play space for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. And I really wish I had know about this groovy little play area when I had two little ones under two….think I would have been here weekly. 🙂

The area is covered, providing protection from the sun and probably a sprinkle of rain. But I doubt the kids would stay dry if it was raining and windy.

Two Cafes Next Door

Fortunately for us, you will now find a cafe to the right and left of the fenced playground. This means you are stacking things more in your favour to enjoy a cuppa while the kids happily play in a safe, gated play space. Little Rock Cafe has been there the longest and Charlie Lovett opened at the beginning of 2017.

Between the shops and the play area is Little Rock Cafe.  The cafe has very helpful staff; serves well priced, decent food; has plenty of high chairs; a kids menu; room for prams and a shelf of kids books and magazines for adults……what more could a parent want? Plus, babycinos are only $1.20.

Thanks Little Munch Sydney for the review that got us here.

Charlie Lovett

Stockland Baulkham Hills

On the right hand side of the fenced play area, the fairly new Charlie Lovett offers a great retreat for parents. Plus yummy cakes, oh so yummmm!!!! There is some room for prams in between tables inside. They serve breakfast, lunch, cakes ( ??), hot drinks and have kids menu too.

Shops

The Shopping Centre is great if you just need to do a grocery shop and maybe pick up a few other little things. Woolworths, Coles, Aldi and Harris Farm are all here but there are no department stores or large chains. There are however plenty of clothing stores and beauty services as well as Toymate and a bookshop.

There are over 850 car parks, with 500 of those undercover. Parking is free (yay!), however 1 hour and 3 hour parking restrictions do apply. Parents with prams parking is located near entrance to the shopping centre from the car park.

Other Facilities and Services

Parents Room

The pretty awesome parents room is located in the middle of the shopping centre, near Aldi.

A lot of thought and care has clearly gone into this space for parents, which is great. They even have gifts in there and complimentary wipes. The only thing missing is a power socket in the feeding rooms if you need to express.

Kiddie Kabz

You can hire a Kiddie Kabz for free from the customer care centre. All you need to do is complete a waiver/ agreement and hand over ID as security. The Kiddie Kabz is then yours for the kids to ‘drive’ while you push them around the shops. Technically you aren’t meant to have two kids in there at once, but I had Mr 3 driving while Mr 2 sat in the top sit and it handled fine.
