Just on the south side of Silverwater Bridge is Dooleys Waterview. It’s great for a nice meal out with your mothers group, family or friends. The family room (aka the dining room) is the part of the club that children are allowed in. And children aren’t just allowed – they are catered to with colouring in at your table, plastic tableware and an amusement room.

The tables in the family room are all spread out. You could meet with a mothers group and there would be room for everyone’s prams! The room itself is beautiful. With the wooden tables and chairs, grand light fittings, floor to ceiling windows throughout, rich carpet and elegant wallpaper they have created a warm and welcoming space.

The club has views over Silverwater Park and out to the Parramatta River. The views can’t really be seen from the family room though. You might need to come back for a (kid free) date night and sit in the bistro or on the deck for views to the water.

The food is fantastic! I can personally vouch for the Linguine Gamberetti – huge juicy prawns with just the right amount of chilli kick. And the Grilled Salmon – I wouldn’t usually go for a cauliflower purée but it was amazing and the salmon was cooked to perfection. They also have coffee and cakes available.

Kids Play Area

Known as ‘The Amusement Room’, there’s a large chalkboard, a few arcade games and tablets to play on but no play equipment.

It’s a large room and it would be great to see them add something for the toddlers. I think it’s aimed at school age children, having said that my preschoolers were happy to draw on the chalkboard and sit at the arcade games….Shhh don’t tell them about actually putting coins in, for at least a few years yet!

Just having a separate space for them to move around in for a while can make a meal out easier.

There is table service in the family room with an a la carte menu and a children’s menu. To match the gorgeous river views and the charming atmosphere, the menu is a little pricier. But we were very impressed with the quality of the food and the customer service.
