My newest discovery of a family friendly cafe is Frankie’s Food Factory at Flower Power Glenhaven. This gem has been around for a while and now even has a sister at the new Flower Power Milperra. But we’ve only made it here now thanks to it being school holidays. And being able to venture out that little further for our weekend adventures. Though in toddler time 30mins can be a looooong time (are we there yet? on repeat)!
Frankie’s Food Factory is inside Flower Power, which means you can take a walk and look at (buy) all things pretty. There’s lots of parking on-site. And the café is spacious with plenty of room for prams and big groups. They do take bookings so make sure you make a reservation as it gets very busy on the weekend…and even during the week!
There is a fully fenced playground inside the café and in eye shot from a few tables.
Within the playground there’s a double slide, big building blocks, a find-a-word board and some climbers. Plus, a FREE merry-go-round which was extra popular with kids of all ages.
There is a little station to collect feed so kids, big and small, can go outside and feed the ducks! Make sure you supervise and keep close to the kids. Although there is a barrier children can still fall over it when they stand on chairs to get a better view.
Back at the table, it’s covered with a big sheet of white paper and there are crayons for kids to be creative.
Such a simple thing but enough to keep the little ones busy for a while. While Master 2 was being all abstract, Miss 6 drew a table full of food and then we played some games of hangman and noughts and crosses.
The menu is extensive with breakfast served till 11:30am and then lunch afterwards. There is also a good selection on the kids menu and the serving is quite big.
Miss 6 ordered the fish and chips and only ate half (more for me!).
The milkshakes are also a treat as they are have sprinkles around the brim and a snake lolly curled around the straw. The adults are not forgotten as the coffee is divine and is served in the prettiest cups and mugs with a mini biscuit.
The service was excellent. Anywhere that asks me whether I would like to order a coffee as soon as I sit down is a winner! There’s also a great selection of baked goods and sweet treats at the counter.
Plus, there are highchairs for the little ones and toilets in the cafe, with a disabled/unisex toilet and a baby change table in the female toilet. The café is also fur baby friendly! They have a rest station for dogs where there is dog food and a drinking bowl.
Frankie’s Food Factory has something for everyone and anyone!
