If you haven’t been to The Vogue Cafe you have no idea what you’ve been missing out on. Be prepared, once you go there once you will definitely be a returning customer! If not you, the kids will be.

The Vogue Cafe

The inside of The Vogue Cafe is cozy but not squishy like a lot of modern cafes are these days. And now outside, there is a fenced play area for the kids. Plus, seating and room for prams. But it is near the carpark, so you may hear the occasional beeping.

The Vogue Cafe

There is a chalk board, colouring in, books, kitchen, blocks and vehicles to race around the road mat.

The Vogue Cafe has a good vibe and staff are always attentive and friendly. Don’t be surprised if they break out into a song or dance as they always seem to be having so much fun although they’re technically working.

The Vogue Cafe

Vogue is well known for their drinks, especially their killer shakes. Be prepared if you take the kids as they will want one and the next thing you know you have a child who is bouncing off the walls! It is definitely a treat for my daughter when we go to “the milkshake place”. You can’t hide from them either, you will notice that all the tables around you have ordered at least one of their shakes. For the kid’s milkshakes they are served with a marshmallow, a lolly snake, sprinkles on a chocolate rim, and popcorn. With various flavours to choose from. This will set you back $5.

Of course kids can’t have all the fun. There is also a huge variety of shakes, frappes, spiders, smoothies, and of course coffee, for the adults. The Nutella Killer Shake (their best seller!) is my go to when I am there, that is after gulping down a smooth Gabriel coffee.

The shakes are so popular that they even published a book on it! It is on display at the cafe and available for purchasing, ‘Decadent Shakes (milkshakes with more)’. The cafe also has weekly shake and food specials so be sure to follow their Instagram and Facebook page.

The Vogue Cafe

The food at The Vogue Cafe is amazing.

My favourite is the Benny Boi, which is packed with yumminess on a plate. My husband always goes for the Bacon and Egg on ciabatta or an open grill, all of which he gives the thumbs up. Their fries with parmesan are also a must try. And the kids don’t miss out either, with a ‘Kid’s Stuff’ menu. Items range from $4 to $9.

Kids Eat Free Deal

The Vogue Cafe is currently doing a deal where kids eat free Monday to Wednesday! This is for one child (under 5) per paying adult and the free item must be from the kid’s menu. And if you go on Wednesday morning, you can also pop into the free storytime at Harry Hartog Bookstore.

The dream team behind the Vogue Cafe is a trio of siblings – Sarah, Brendan and Matthew Aouad. From humble beginnings with Vogue about 5yrs ago, they are now also proud owners of two other venues at Macquarie Centre, The Missing Piece and Hattrick. All respective venues have their own uniqueness, vibe and different menus. And, if you get takeaway coffee from any of these three venues, make sure you bring your own reusable cup to get a 50c discount!

The Missing Piece

The Missing Piece is located outside Uniqlo and David Jones and is one to try if you like specialty coffee. Plus they were recently voted outstanding cafe and won business of the year for the Northern District Local Business Awards.

Hattrick

Hattrick opens late and serves beer, wine and cocktails. If you think their milkshakes are out of this world wait till you see their cocktails! Hattrick is located on Waterloo Rd or if you’re accessing it within the shopping centre you have to exit near Big W.

The Vogue Cafe

All three venues are worth a try for their food and crazy drinks. We are long returning customers, especially to Vogue. All venues have highchairs and they all cater to the littlies. With a few little kiddies in the Aouad family, they really know how to make the kids (and parents) happy!
