Fashion Spree – Factory Outlet Centre | Liverpool

Fashion, Furniture, Food and Fenced playground - Fashion Spree is family friendly outlet shopping

Fashion SpreeIf you have been to Fashion Spree before and left underwhelmed, I hear you. But the centre is celebrating one year since its overhaul and renovation, including the installation of a fenced outdoor children’s playground. The stores themselves have also been renovated and the centre boasts huge, pram friendly, aisles in the main circuit. The Fashion Spree website tells of its “fully equipped” parents room with private feeding areas and a toddler toilet. So if you need to restock your bubs onesie collection or (gasp) shop for yourself with a playground break scheduled, Fashion Spree is a handy centre, which has clearly kept families in mind.

Play areas

Heading outside, the children’s playground caters for little ones and up. When I say up, I really mean it. The slippery dip is dizzyingly tall! Being sans-toddler that day I did the climb on my own and it’s not for the faint hearted. Kids need to cross an enclosed rope bridge to get to the slide. It certainly gives a birds eye view of the playground along with a strong dose of altitude.

Thankfully, the two sections of the playground are not joined. This means you can keep little ones either on the soft fall (multiple obstacles and boards to explore) or safely scaling a toddler friendly section with a regular sized slippery dip. A small, padded indoor play area awaits in the homemaker centre ‘The Grove’ (across the pedestrian crossing in a different building). This option is perfect for little ones who aren’t quite able to climb in the “big park”.

Food and Drink

The Grove Cafe sits across from the outdoor playground and has both outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor seating is undercover but can be uncomfortably warm in the sun as the panels are clear. At the second entrance to the centre, a short walk away, is Cafe Spree which had a lineup for coffees. I didn’t sample anything from here but have found a queue is generally a promising sign. The central food court has a very trendy feel and there are several coffee and lunch options available.

Overall, if you need to do some clothes or homewares shopping, Fashion Spree offers plenty of parking, food, family facilities and (on weekdays) a relaxed atmosphere with none of the crowds typical of other outlet centres.
