Deakin Park lies just north of the M4, along Silverwater Road. It used to be in the Auburn Council area but not resides within the City of Parramatta.
The park has a large fenced dog area and a playground, set in the back corner away from Silverwater Road. The playground is currently being upgraded – and should open at the end of June. There’s a scooter track around the outside, birds nest multi-directional swing, musical instruments, climbing frame and slide.
The new playground is in roughly the same location as the old one. So it should still enjoy some natural shade from the surrounding trees at different times of the day.
Here are photos of the old playground.
Next to the playground is a fenced dog off-leash area. Fur members of the family should be excited by this part as it has doggy play equipment.
