Elephant Parks & Places in Sydney

My eldest daughter is completely obsessed with elephants. As random as her obsession is, I absolutely think it is adorable and of course have been trying to find playgrounds with elephants. I thought it would be great to share as there may be some other elephant obsessed kids out there.

This guide should help those with children who are completely obsessed by elephants. Here are a list of parks and playgrounds that include elephants. Know of any more? Please comment below.

This playground is designed based on the layout of Taronga Zoo, where Sir Edward Hallstrom was Trust Chairman for 10 years. There are large sandstone animals carved throughout the park which includes an elephant. This is a nature based park with a mound slide, sandpit and water pump.
The entrance is 60m from the bus stop on Willoughby Road. There is off street parking next to the Willoughby Leisure Centre and netball courts (entrance from Small Street).

Whilst this is set to close soon, we hope it will relocate somewhere local. There are 3 courses, one of which has an animal theme. There is a lovely statue of an elephant which will definitely be a delight to those who love them. They might throw a tantrum when they have to move though.

Parramatta Park is definitely a local and some claim that the new giant slide is an abstract elephant. What do you think?

Of course, we can’t forget to mention our lovely Taronga Zoo. Maybe not somewhere we can go every day however probably the best place to go in Sydney to experience real elephants.

  1. Who would have thought! Funny what you find when you go looking….think I know all the parks with diggers and construction type stuff around us. Never even noticed the elephant at Hallstrom – great park btw. :-)
