Hughes Avenue ReserveLocated on Hughes Avenue, between Swane Street and Hope Street, is a lovely local playground with a cafe nearby.¬†On one side, is a large grassy area to run around. Then there is play equipment in the middle. And on the other side, there is lots of trees and plants. My children loved exploring under the trees – lots of crunchy leaves to walk on and insects to spot on the plants. Although the playground isn’t fenced, it is set far enough back from the road and is located in a quiet street.

There is bark on the ground of the playground and a concrete path loops around it, good for the bike and scooter lovers. The playground has one bench seat to rest on and has a rubbish bin.

The Play equipment consists of a double tower with:

  • Slide
  • Rock climbing wall
  • Spiral slide
  • Swinging bridge
  • Tunnel
  • Shop
  • Steering wheel
  • Binoculars
  • Abacus
  • Chain link climbing rope with board
  • Vertical links to climb through

And around the tower are a set of swings (one with a toddler seat), ‘horse’ rocker and a
see-saw.
