Jones Park is a large sports ground, across from Ollie Webb Reserve, with cricket, football, soccer and croquet being played there.
Until recently, there used to be a small fenced playground in the north-west corner of the park. It has now been removed and a new playground is being built near the carpark in the middle of the park.
New Playground – Opening July
We’re excitedly waiting the opening of the new playground at Jones Park. It will have a scooter/ bike track with a ‘petrol station’, signs and a round about. Plus, there’ll be imaginative play equipment, including a tractor.
We love that it will complement the new fenced playground down the road at Ollie Webb Reserve. And add another dinky track for young kids to learn to ride. Plus, the new playground has been placed under existing trees to provide shade.
We are however concerned about the playground being so close to the carpark and road. But it’s hard to tell if it will be an issue until the fencing comes down. We also hope that a crossing will be added so families can safely travel on foot from Ollie Webb Reserve to Jones Park playground.
On the corner of Banks and Burnett Streets is the Jones Park Community Hall, where you will find toilets. The hall can be hired for functions and meetings.
Finding Jones Park
The park is in between the Great Western Highway and M4, just south of Parramatta. The playground is on the corner of Burnett and Banks Streets.
