Jones Park is a large sports ground, across from Ollie Webb Reserve, with cricket, football, soccer and croquet played there.
Until recently, there was a small fenced playground in the north-west corner of the park. It has now been removed and a new playground built next to the carpark, in the middle of the park.
We’ve been excitedly waiting for the opening of the new playground at Jones Park for a while now! And enjoyed our first play there today.
The new playground has a scooter/ bike track with a ‘petrol station’, signs and a roundabout. Plus, there’s a tractor climbing play gym and swings.
Thankfully the new playground has been placed under existing trees to provide shade. And has a fence along the road.
But disappointingly there isn’t a fence along the carpark, which is close to the playground. I watched kids chasing balls that rolled down into the carpark and think this is a safety concern. It’s also a shame that the track isn’t wider and a bit bigger, particularly given that there is more space. My Mr 4 almost took up more than one side of the track on his bike with training wheels.
We do love that the new playground complements the larger playground down the road at Ollie Webb Reserve. And is good for little ones. Plus, it adds another dinky track, where young kids can learn to ride, to the Parramatta area.
We do however hope that a crossing is added so families can safely travel on foot between Ollie Webb Reserve and Jones Park.

Other Facilities
Nearby to the playground are some rubbish bins, but no bubbler that we could find.
There are sports fields and cricket nets at Jones Park. Plus, a kiosk when sports is being played.
On the corner of Banks and Burnett Streets is the Jones Park Community Hall, where you will find toilets. The hall can be hired for functions and meetings.

Finding Jones Park
The park is in between the Great Western Highway and M4, just south of Westfield Parramatta. The playground at the intersection of Banks and Steele Streets.

Pretty cool that there is a hall next to it. I am guessing this is a popular venue for birthday parties then.
