Model Farms Reserve is almost 12 hectares of bushland, along Quarry Branch Creek and Northmead Gully. Its name comes from the original name for the suburb, before it became Winston Hills. This was where a model farm was developed to show settlers the types of crops that could be grown in different seasons.
The playground is on the fringe of the bush and has gets lots of natural shade.
Within the playground, you’ll find:
- swings, with a toddler seat
- climbing play gym, with tunnels
- monkey bars
- vertical interactive play panels
A key draw card for the reserve is the bushwalks, though we are still to go exploring. The reserve also has a 1/3 basketball court and seats.
