If you are like us, you may have driven passed this park opposite Pennant Hills Station without knowing the gem that hides behind the lovely big trees that line the park. We probably drove passed Wollundry Park for about a year on the way to Sportsbliss before stopping to explore, and I kicked myself for not stopping sooner.

Wollundry Park Pennant Hills

The Park has a great medium sized, fenced playground for toddlers and preschoolers. There is a cool fire truck that the kids can climb on board and ‘drive’, climbing equipment with a small and spiral slide and driving station and shop underneath, swings, rockers, vertical spider climbing net, two-seater rocking horse and a number of nature based play elements.

There are a number of bench seats around the playground as well as a sheltered picnic table. Outside the playground there is plenty of grass to lay out a picnic rug and there is a wooden raised walkway in the park that my boys love playing on, plus a bubbler.

In a lot of ways this park is similar to the Beecroft Train Park, though with a fire truck rather then train theme, more nature based elements and better natural shade. Wollundry Park does however have a bark/ wood chip ground so crawlers will get dirty.

Wollundry Park Pennant Hills

To top off this park visit, there are toilets in the Pennant Hills Library building next door to the park/ carpark and a number of places to grab a hot drink or bite to eat nearby, with a variety of options in Pennant Hills Market Place across the road and Corner Café Pennant Hills is just up the road on the corner of Yarrara and Ramsey Rd. There is free parking available in the Council carpark between the park and the Library, as well as along the road and in Pennant Hills Market Place. We have also caught the train to the park and the station has lifts so it is easy to navigate with a pram.

An added bonus for us at the moment is that there is construction taking place at the train station, which my 2 and 3yr can usually enjoy watching from the playground. We also regularly visit the library, have a play in the kids area and borrow some books.

Finding Wollundry Park

Wollundry Park is about 13kms north-east of Parramatta. And across the road from Pennant Hills train station and next door to Pennant Hills Library. There is on-site parking.
