I don’t remember much of my history classes at school anymore. But 1918 is stuck in my head as when the first World War ended. And of course, 11th November as Remembrance Day for the signing of the Armistice – the historic agreement that ended the war. So seeing it’s 2018, this Remembrance Day we commemorate the Centenary of the Armistice.
Parramatta’s Armistice Day activities will honour the many soldiers, sailors, nurses and citizens from across Parramatta who made significant contributions to the war. The activities are the perfect opportunity for families to come together and acknowledge the contribution of these brave servicemen and women. While also participating in a variety of events that honour the spirit of remembrance.
Leading up to Armistice Day, there are memorial displays in Centenary Square. And on Sunday 11th November, City of Parramatta will host a commemorative service and family open day.
