In August 2015, Parramatta Library at Civic Place closed after 50 years. The library is now temporarily located at 1-3 Fitzwilliam St. This is until a new library is built as part of the Parramatta Square redevelopment, expected to be completed in four years time.

Kids Space

Parramatta Library
Summer school holidays 2017

The kids space in the current/ temporary library makes for a good outing. There are drawing tables, plenty of room to sit and read, plus lots of books. The library also still provides its reading programs (during school term) and school holiday activities.

To access the kids space on level 1, enter the library through the Raffles College entry and take the lift to level 1. Alternatively, you can enter through the ground floor of the library, but you will then need to take two flights of stairs to reach it.

Toilets, Prams and Returns

The toilets are near the lift on level 1. There is a baby change table in the disabled toilet but you need to ask a librarian to open it for you.

There is a small area to park your pram within the kids space, next to the space rocket and opposite the catepillar book shelves/ boxes.

To return books, drop them in the return shoot outside of the ground level entrance or take the lift to the main entrance on level 1.
