When it’s raining or cold outside, an indoor soft play centre is my go to with my little ones. But they’re rare unfortunately! Thankfully you can find one at Castle Hill Indoor Sports Centre, called Kids Playland. And it’s open Monday to Friday for kids under 5yrs.
With over 600sqms of space to run around indoors, this is a great place to go on a rainy or cold weekday with your little ones. I always leave with sweaty, smiling kids and I enjoy that there’s a cafe.
Kids Playland received a face lift in 2016 with the addition of a number of inflatables for the kids (and adults) to enjoy. There are also a few ride-on vehicles to race around in, large foam blocks to build with, a slide, a few things to climb on or through and balls to play with.
After entering the child proof gate, make your way around to the cafe to pay the entry fee and grab yourself a drink and bite to eat.
The cafe has a good selection of food available and most is very reasonably priced.
There are a number of tables along the outside of the soft play area but they do fill up quickly. If there aren’t any tables available, there are chairs inside the soft play area or ask one of the friendly staff whether another table can be set up.
With Kids Playland open from 9am to 4pm, you can happily settle in with the kids for as long as you like. And it’s a great place to catch up for mothers groups and other families.
Keep in mind, Kids Playland is basically housed in a big shed. So it can get cold inside on wet days and very hot in the warmer months.
Also, your kids will need to be about 3yrs old to climb up inside the tractor on their own. You can of course help them up, but just be prepared to do it again and again and to feel a little sore the next day!
- Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.
- Closed weekends and during school holidays when it becomes Inflatable World.
Entry is $11 for kids over 1 years old, with siblings only $7. There is no entry fee for adults. To pay, you just need to head around to the cafe.
Finding Kids Playland
It takes me about 20mins to get to Castle Hills Indoor Sports Centre. You just head up Windsor Road, to near Showground Road.
There is on-site parking wrapped around the centre. With sporting classes on at the centre, it can be difficult to get a spot close to the entrance.
