Birrong Leisure Centre is located just south of Auburn, in between Regents Park and Sefton train stations, and probably has one of the first water playgrounds in Sydney.

Birrong Leisure Centre

Within Birrong Leisure Centre, there is a 50m heated outdoor pool, 25m heated indoor pool, fenced water playground, kiosk, a large number of shaded picnic tables and a few bbqs.

Water Playground

The water playground is at the far end of the Birrong Leisure Centre and is fenced off from the 50m pool. There is only shade over one section of the water playground as well as some on the grassed area and at the picnic tables.

There are three areas in the water playground:

  1. The main area has lots of water fountains, jets, sprinklers and a big bucket that tips every 5-10mins. It is about 25m by 25m in size and is not shaded.
  2. There is a climbing structure next to the main area with slides, rockers and a bucket that tips as well. It is usually a wet play area but the water wasn’t working when we went.
  3. In one corner of the main area there is a small baby/ toddler splash pool with a mushroom, providing a little bit of shade.

Entry is $5.50 per adult and $4.70 per child over 5yrs.
