For the very first exhibition at Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library, the Creative Space will feature ADORNED. It’s a series of video and photographic portraits that feature women from across the culturally diverse communities of Parramatta and Western Sydney. Each figure is adorned with handmade headdresses and clothing that reflect personal stories of identity and culture. These were made by the women depicted, during workshops with artist Liam Benson at Parramatta Artists’ Studios.
An accompanying ADORNED workshop will be taking place in our Creative Studio from 11am to 1pm at the opening on Sunday 15th December.
Getting to Wentworth Point Family Fun Day
Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library is at 10 Footbridge Boulevard, right in the heart of Wentworth Point, across the road from Marina Square Shopping Centre.
If you’re driving to the Wentworth Point Family Fun Day, remember that there’s very little street parking. So we recommend going straight to Marina Square, where you’ll find close to 500 car spots. And it’s free to park for the first 3hrs.
But there are heaps of ways to get there by public transport:
- bus stops right in front of the Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library.
- Rhodes train station is the closest station to the new Centre and a 3-minute shuttle bus regularly leaves from Rhodes to Wentworth Point throughout the day.
- The Centre is about a 5min walk from Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Terminal
The facility is fully wheelchair accessible and ambulant toilets are located through the building.
