Bat Night | Parramatta Park @ Parramatta Park | Parramatta | New South Wales | Australia

To celebrate Australasian Bat Week, WIRES North West is holding a special Bat Night at Parramatta Park for local families. It will include kids’ arts, crafts and activities, a talk by bat carers about Australian microbats and flying foxes, and most excitingly of all a viewing of the park’s bat colony — which is around 12,000 in total — waking up and flying out to forage for food. Learn more about these fascinating animals, why they’re so crucial to the local ecosystem, how to stay safe around bats and more.

Suitable for families, all welcome. Free to attend but gold-coin donations are appreciated.

They have a maximum of 20 people at each event, so please contact Wires via email on [email protected] to book and get more information.

Bat Nights are currently scheduled for:

  • 9th March at 6:30pm
  • 22nd June at 4pm
