The Australiana Pioneer Village is a true monument to the pioneering days that bred within us, the spirit of courage and faith in ourselves and our country. The land on which Australiana Pioneer Village is situated was farmland recognised as essential to the survival of colonial New South Wales being one of the earliest grants made in Australia. Due to Bill McLachlan’s vision and The Friends of the Australiana Pioneer Village, the Village has been preserved for our future generations, an almost forgotten era. In 2004 the Village buildings were gazetted for listing on the NSW Heritage register which was granted. The buildings will forever now be protected.
There are a range of activities to do while visiting the village, including the miniature trains ($3 per ride for 3yrs+), watching the blacksmith working, going on a horse and carriage ride ($4 per person) and seeing a shearing demonstration. There are also plenty of places to picnic and lots for the kids to explore.
The Village is open every Sunday, public holiday mondays (except Anzac Day) and
Tuesday and Wednesday during school holidays from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Tiny tots Tuesday takes place each week at Wenty Leagues, at a new time of 11am to 2pm. There is a different activity each week.

Merrylands Community Health Centre offers a breastfeeding drop-in clinic every Thursday from 10am to 12pm for new mums who would like some help with breastfeeding and have any concerns or questions. The clinic is run by qualified Child and Family Health Nurses.
New Parent Meet and Greet Sessions (aka Mother’s Group)
Every Tuesday (1pm-2:30pm) at Telopea and Wednesday (10:30am to 12pm) at Merrylands, during school term, there is a Meet and Greet for new families with children aged from birth to 12 weeks old. It is an information sharing session facilitated by a Community Nurse.
The sessions are parent centred, and provide a support network, as well as professional advice, which is offered in an open and inclusive environment. The program is offered as a drop in service, with no appointment required. It provides a great opportunity to get to know other parents, avoid isolation, and find out about child health care.
