And February is the month Parramatta’s first Livvi’s Place finally opens! This inclusive fenced playground for kids of all abilities will have a water playground plus lots of other fun play equipment. Details of the official opening are still being confirmed but it will likely be on Saturday 23rd February.

For apple lovers, pick your own season has started in Bilpin. The town is just an hour north-west of Parramatta, nestled in the Blue Mountains past Richmond. There are lots of different orchards where you pick your own apples (plus some pears, peaches and plums) as well as cafes with homemade apple pies and local apple cider. Our go to orchard is Pine Crest.

1Blacktown Fresh Food Fair | 3rd February

The Village Green opposite Westpoint Shopping Centre is transformed into a farmer’s wonderland on the 1st Sunday of each month with the very best fresh food that Blacktown and Western Sydney has to offer. There’s also live performances, free face painting and a free petting zoo.

2Bush Storytime – Central Gardens Reserve | 4th February

We love craft and storytime with Poppy the Possum in the Bush School at Central Gardens! It’s on the 1st Monday of the month from 10am to 11am and then afterwards you can check out the free native animal enclosure, play at the two playgrounds or enjoy the waterfalls.

3Mini Park Rangers – Blaxland Riverside Park | 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th Feb

Meet the Park Ranger and enjoy stories, songs, rhymes and simple crafts, as you explore the natural world, every Tuesday morning during school term from 10am. Plus, there’s a short walk through the parklands and adjacent wetlands.

4Blacktown Lunar New Year Celebrations – Nurragingy Reserve | 8th February

Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens in Nurragingy Reserve will be adorned with colour as we prepare to ring in the Year of the Pig. Plus there’ll be Peppa Pig Kids Show, free kids rides, free kids craft, lion and dragon dance, food stalls and fireworks.

Waitangi Day is the national day of New Zealand, and commemorates the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi on 6 February 1840. The Western Sydney festival has live entertainment (headlined by Out of Salem), arts and craft stalls, food stalls and many other activities.

6Tropfest – Parramatta Park | 9th February

Come and experience a great night of fun, film and food right in beautiful surroundings of Parramatta Park! Tropfest shows the 16 incredible short film finalist and starts at 4:30pm.

7Parramatta Lunar New Year | 15th February

Celebrate Lunar New Year and the Year of the Pig in the heart of Parramatta! There’ll be fun for all ages with food, entertainment, performances, workshops and more from 5pm. Plus, there’s a colourful end to the celebrations with a lovely fireworks display at 9:30pm.

8NSW Swifts Fan Day | 16th February

10Beat the Bottle – Ryde | 24th February

Join us to Beat the Bottle and help Good for the Hood and Sydney Water clean up Kissing Point Park. This is a free event, with food, stalls and music. All gear provided and freebies for anyone who gets involved.
