Playgrounds literally come in all different shapes, sizes, colours, looks and fun factors. While most tick the box when it comes to providing good, free fun for at least 30mins to a few hours. A playground can’t be everything to everyone! Some are simply going to suit your family better than others.
But unless you have been to a TONNE of playgrounds (like us), it’s going to be a bit tricky to find just the right one. (You know the playgrounds that meets all your criteria, assuming it exists) Well not any more! You can now quiz the collective playground experience of ParraParents (all 260+ playgrounds across Western Sydney) using our expanded Find a Playground Search Tool.

It includes more criteria to help make it easier to find just the playground you are looking for. Like finding out which local playgrounds have a big slide. Or ones with somewhere to ride a bike, picnic shelters and shade. We hope this makes it a million times easier to find just the right playground for your play date!

Bretby Park – Neighbourhood Playground | Rydalmere
I was a bit obsessed with finding fenced playgrounds about a year ago and not sure how I missed the one at Bretby Park! The key thing to keep in mind with this ‘fenced’ playground is that it is not gated. There is a passage opening – hard to explain – but the fence overlaps […]

Darvall Park – Playgrounds and Bushwalks | Denistone

David Hamilton Reserve – Neighbourhood Playground | Eastwood
I must confess that I didn’t know parts of Eastwood were actually within the City of Parramatta. Well not until we stopped for a play one day at David Hamilton Reserve and noticed it had a City of Parramatta Council sign. There’s a new playground at Katrina Park in Seven Hills, thanks to Blacktown City Council. It opened in September 2019. But we’re currently visiting way more ‘new’ places than we have time to write reviews for. So here are some photos of the new playground to give you a feel for what it’s like while […]

If you have been to Ermington favourites – Halvorsen Park or River Park – then you have very likely driven passed Ken Newman Park. The park is a rather large reserve (3.7 hectares), going from Spurway Street to Hilder Road and all the way down to Parramatta River. But it isn’t that visible from the road as […]

Kilpack Park – Fenced Neighbourhood Playground | Carlingford
We usually visit the fully fenced Kilpack Park after gymnastics at YMCA Epping and it is great for my boys to burn off a bit more energy before heading home. Kilpack Park is best access at 28 Darwin Street, Carlingford, just down the hill from Carlingford Court Shopping Centre. The park has a lot of pedestrian […]

Koonoona Park – NEW Ninja Warrior Style District Playground | Villawood
It’s very rare for a new park to be created in Sydney, particularly where there once was houses. But that’s exactly what Fairfield City Council has done in creating Koonoona Park in Villawood.
