You may noticed the sports field along Parramatta Road. But did you know there is a good playground at FS Garside Park on the other side of the sports field? The playground is on the corner of Onslow and Gray Streets. And it looks like it was upgraded in the last few years.
The ground is a mixture of synthetic grass and softfall. And there is a nice ring of trees around the outside, along with a path good for riding on. Keep in mind though that the level of shade over the play equipment varies throughout the day.
The play equipment includes:
- four seater see-saw
- kangaroo rocker
- set of swings
- climbing play gym, with double slide, monkey bars and steering wheels
- suspension bridge with stepping pads
The playground has views of the sports field through a fence. There are park benches near the playground as well as grass to spread out a picnic rug.
And the thing that will get us coming back here…being able to walk down Onslow Street to Parramatta Road and watching the train crossing. My boys LOVE the ding dong.
Finding FS Garside Park
FS Garside Park sits in between the M4 and Parramatta Road, near James Ruse Drive. The playground is on the corner of Onslow and Gray Streets in Granville. The bottom of the park runs along Parramatta Road, just slightly up from where the Carlingford train crossed Parramatta Road.
