The park is a rather large reserve (3.7 hectares), going from Spurway Street to Hilder Road and all the way down to Parramatta River. But it isn’t that visible from the road as there is a nice line of trees in front.
We have been meaning to check out Ken Newman Park for a while now. And finally went before a shop at Ermington Woollies and grabbing some dinner from Portico Chicken. Plus we used our visit to drop off some painted rocks. Unfortunately it is probably one of the least clean playgrounds we have been to recently and there was a lot of broken glass around.
I am glad we chose now to visit Ken Newman Park, as my Mr 4 and Mr almost 3 are at the right age to enjoy the playground. The playground will definitely appeal to climbers and consists of:
- rope bridge to climb and cross,
- rock climbing wall
- rope obstacle course
- three swings, including a birds nest seat
The Park is quite sloped and would be a great place for a slip n slide! And there is plenty of grassed area to run around and bush to explore. Probably makes for a good place to fly a kite as well.

Finding Ken Newman Park
The playground is best accessed from Heysen Ave. And this is where the street parking is also easiest to find. The 524 bus travels near the park and you can get on/ off on Boronia St.
