What makes Larry Bolitho Reserve unique is that the whole park is fenced, not just the playground inside. I can only think of one other park in the area that has a large grassed fenced area that you can kick a ball around without worrying about it rolling onto the road.
The playground has shade sails over it and a small scooter path around it.
The play equipment consists of:
- swings (including a birds nest and toddler swing),
- climbing equipment with bridge,
- slide and rope walls, and
- a merry go round.
The playground is best suited for slightly more adventurous little ones, aged 2-6, and we have seen plenty of young primary school kids playing there in the afternoon. The ground in the playground is synthetic grass so nice to sit on for us adults as well.
There is a bubbler, benches and street parking, but no toilets and it is common to see kids going off to the bushes. There are though toilets at Bunnings Carlingford, at the top of Post Office Street.
