I was very keen to check it out as we regularly do the nice Ponds Creek Walk from Crowgey Street to Park Road and then have a pit stop at Caleidoscope Cafe. Little did I know that a few minutes more along the walk on the other side of Park Road is a playground in Marri Badoo Reserve.
The playground is a good one for young monkeys, I mean climbers ;-). There is a good amount of natural shade provided by the surrounding trees and the ground is synthetic grass.
The main piece of play equipment is a large climbing play gym, with two slides and lots and lots of things to climb up and across.
For the littler ones, there is a rocker and abacus as well as stairs to reach the smaller slide. There are also two swings, including one with a toddler seat.
There are two park benches as well as a covered picnic table nearby.
Finding Marri Badoo Reserve
The playground in Marri Badoo Reserve is most directly accessed from the end of Christina Street in Rydalmere. You will some street parking here. Alternatively you can walk in from the bridge on Park Road or at the Elm Street as well as from Kirby Street. The 521 bus runs along Park Road, or you can get a pass along Victoria Road and walk up.
Or take the Ponds Creek Walk from Crowgey Street, along Subiaco Creek, which is about 1km.
