Meehan Street Park, also known as Wallawa Reserve, is a small reserve with a little grassed area and playground in the corner. It’s bordered by apartments on the north and east side, which provide some shade over the park. Plus there are a number of mature native trees.
With so few playgrounds in this part of the City of Parramatta, we are very excited that it has just been upgraded.
There is now a rubber ground and a climbing play gym, with rope climbing. Plus some swings.
There are seats and sandstone blocks around the playground. Plus a another seating area in the park.
Here is the old playground for comparison.
There’s a small path running between Inkerman and Meehan Streets. Plus, a whole lot of pigeons when we visited….think they will all make a return when the new playground opens.
Finding Meehan Street Park
Wallawa Reserve is not far from the intersection of Church Street and the M4. The park can be accessed from the end of Inkerman Street, which is a dead end at the park, as well as along Meehan Street. There is limited street parking.
