Not far from Reynolds Park and Toongabbie Creek is Rausch Street Reserve. It runs from Rausch to Hurley Streets and has a small playground in the middle. While the playground isn’t fenced, it is set back from the road. And there is a clear line of sight across the reserve so you can see runners well before they get to the street.
From what we can tell, the playground was upgraded in the last few years. There is softfall on the ground and the colourful play equipment includes:
- three swings, with a baby bucket and birds nest seats
- pretend car that kids can ‘drive’ in
- four seat see-saw
- monkey bars
- climbing play gym with slide that is best suited to kids 3yrs+
- rope spider wall
There is also a path running the length of the reserve which is good for riding on. Unfortunately though there isn’t any shade over the playground so visiting on a hot day is out of the question.
Rausch Street Reserve is nice for a little play on its own, or on the way to visiting Reynolds Park.
