The new, cute little playground at Ron Payne Park slipped in under our radar. But thanks to the Cool Mums of Ryde District Facebook group we were alerted to its arrival!
We visited yesterday for a quick play and look forward to going back to check out the bushwalk from the park into Lane Cove National Park.
The main attraction for us is the cute train and little town centre in the middle of the playground, particularly the ice cream van! And around the outside is a little scooter/ bike path with road signs.
To one side of the train, there’s two slides – one for little ones and the other for slightly older kids. Plus a covered picnic table, where you can see all of the playground.
On the other side, there’s some swinging fun. And a little obstacle course, with balancing and climbing.
The playground looks over the sports field, with a fence in between. Unfortunately that means the playground faces north-east and gets sun for most of the day. So best visited outside of hot, sunny days.
At the park, you’ll also find on-site parking, toilets and bubbler. Plus, a track into Lane Cove National Park, from the end of the carpark. We look forward to coming back and exploring this bushwalk.
