We have driven past Shannons Paddock lots of times on the way to Westmead Hospital or Wentworthville Library to borrow toys from their fab toy library. But it has taken up about four years to actually stop for a play. And parking was a little tricky along Darcy Road… definitely more the walk to variety of playground. Though you could try and park in Reid Avenue.
The playground is most directly accessed from Darcy Road, near the intersection with Briens Road. There is a fence along the busy Darcy Road, but be very mindful that there are unfortunately gaps in the fence.
The playground is surrounded by large trees so enjoys some natural shade. The ground under the play equipment is softfall. And there is a concrete path running around the playground which is good to ride on.
Within the playground, you will find:
- large climbing play gym, with slide and shop
- monkey bars
- climbing half rings
- suspended stepping pads
- set of swings
- see-saw
Around the outside of the playground, there is also some natural elements for kids to explore and play with.
There is a concrete path running around the playground which is good to ride on. Plus some park benches and a small picnic shelter.
