If you are stuck for something to get hubby for Father’s Day from the kids? Then here are a few handmade gift ideas we made before that we hope provide some inspiration.

1Dad Painting

Simply mark out Dad/ Daddy with masking tape on a canvas and then let the kids paint over it, making sure they cover the edges of the tape with paint. Once dry, just peel off the tape.

2Footprint Paintings

We made these for Hubby’s birthday last year and they were a lot of fun. Simply paint the bottom of your kids feet and stamp them on a canvas. Then get creative and turn them into a favourite vehicle or animal. Hubby likes planes and then Mr 3 wanted to do a tractor and cement truck….definitely pushed my creative talents, made harder using kids rough paint brushes.

3Salt Dough Prints

There is a lot you can do with salt dough that drys rock hard. We have been creating these little hand print ornaments each year as a keepsake, though the first one we made didn’t travel so well in our move recently.

The recipe is simply 1 cup flour, 1 cup salt and 1/2 cup water. You just need to mix the flour and salt together and then slowly mix in the water. I have added colouring in at this point but it works better to leave them plain and then paint them once dry.
