Calmsley Hill City Farm is a great family farm experience for little and big kids. It is only 18km from Parramatta and is open every day from 9am until 4:30pm (except Christmas eve, boxing day, new years eve and new years day). And remember to check out their online specials page before heading out! Or attraction discount sites, like Scoopon, which has a great deal for the summer school holidays.

Calmsley Hill City Farm has a koalas, wombats, kangaroos and native birds as well as many farm animals. We were lucky to see alpacas, a donkey, camel, some ponies, rabbits, chooks, hens, turkeys, ducks, goats, sheep, lizards, dogs, cats, cows, pigs and piglets and horses!
Things to do at the Calmsley Hill City Farm
As you arrive, you are given the option to purchase some feed ($2 a bag) and also pay for the tractor ride. If you decide not to purchase it, never fear, you can always go back into the gift shop and purchase them after.
The farm has many daily shows, which keeps it fun and interactive for families.
The shows include cow milking, animal patting in the nursery, sheep shearing, stock whip show, working dog show and a koala talk/exhibition. Visit the Calmsley Hill website for the show timetable.
There are also two tractor rides throughout the day, one at 11:30am and the other at 2:30pm. The tractor rides are $3 per person (free for children under 3).
The Facilities
There are many electric barbeques around for you to cook your own food as well as picnic tables.

If you prefer to visit a cafe, good news! There is a cafe near the entrance of the farm, which is open until 2pm. Coffee, burgers, ice cream and more!
There are a few bathrooms throughout the premises and you’ll find hand sanitisers readily available in a few different places. There is also a nice playground for the children near the entrance.

Our Experience
We have been twice, once on a weekend and mid week. I highly recommend mid week. Our children are 2.5 and almost 4 and it was very enjoyable for them at this age group.
I also highly recommend buying some feed, doing the tractor ride and taking part in the cow milking. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
