Here’s a summary of the performances and tours that are definitely worth checking out as a family, with four being in the April School Holidays. Three performances bring well known stories to life, one will get you bopping in your seat and the other two will amaze you will with high calibre acrobatics or dance performances.

Based on the book by Jackie French and Bruce Whatley, Pete the Sheep is a lively and mischievous award-winning musical for young audiences and their adults.

Shaun isn’t like the other Shearers in Shaggy Gully… he’d rather be styling than shearing and instead of ‘sheep-dog’, he has a ‘sheep-sheep’ named Pete. After being rejected by the shearers and their dogs, Shaun and Pete set up their own Shearing Salon in town and before long word is out and they are inundated with woolly clients and maybe a Ringer or two!

Alison Lester’s classic picture book comes to life on stage in a wonderful world of song, light, shadow and movement.

The creators of Children are Stinky bring you an all new, action-packed, super exciting circus spectacular. Brass Monkeys celebrates kids who march to the beat of their own drum. Perfect for those just starting out on their Shakespeare journeys is the Bell Shakespeare production Just Romeo & Juliet! – originally by William Shakespeare, messed around with by Andy Griffiths, adapted by Joanna Erskine.

GRIMM promises a world of imagination and beauty as Snow White, The Frog Prince, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and others find a path through the mysteries and dangers of youth to find joy, understanding and maturity. Located on the banks of the Parramatta River, near the Eat Street precinct, Riverside Theatres is easily accessible by bus, ferry and car. NOTE: Church Street is currently closed to general traffic between Market and Macquarie Streets due to construction of the Parramatta Light Rail. If driving, it’s best to allow extra time.

The main nearby carpark is Secure Parking – Eat Street and you can get FREE parking there until 30th April by shopping at a participating business.
